Born in St. Helens, Lancashire, England, Geoff first rose to prominence in 1949 after winning the Senior Clubmans TT and the Senior Manx Grand Prix. He went on to post 22 wins in the 500cc MotoGP races and four MotoGP World Championships -- in 1951, 1953, 1954, and 1955. Known as the "Stylish Champion," he retired from racing at the end of the 1959 season.
